The roles of the new management committee have now been agreed following the first AGM on 13th February 2019 and will take affect from 1st April 2019:-
- Chairman – Ross Ward
- Treasurer – Barrie Roberts
- Director – David Rushton (Finance)
- Director – Terry Rogers (Business Sector Advisor)
- Director – Sarah Bootherstone (Marketing, Communication and Event planning)
- Director – Mark Ash
* Note: The role of Secretary is yet to be agreed.
The journey to save the Auctioneers Arms started back in September 2016 and one of my main ambitions apart from saving the pub from demolition was to create employment and volunteer opportunities for local people as well as bringing the local community together. I feel that this has now been achieved albeit there is still much more to do, however its time for me to stand down and give others an opportunity.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all our members for their support and their contributions in making the Auctioneers Arms the success it is today. I’m a firm believer in team work and acknowledge the fact that staff are a huge part of the team alongside the committee, the shareholders, the volunteers and the manager.
Lets not forget that the management committee are all volunteers too. They give up their spare time to support the business and the Society and I have every confidence that the new committee will continue with the good work that has already been achieved and that they will continue to provide the staff and the manager with the support that is required in not only sustaining the business but also improving it, and I wish them all the very best for the future.
